Hello You,
so lately i have been obsessing over Polymer clay/FIMO and more specific,
Making FIMO jewellery.
FIMO jewellery has been around since the 80's but has had an exciting comeback in Melbourne thanks to EMILY GREEN a local designer who has been making her lovely necklaces and earrings.
and nearly every third person who has attended a craft fair in the last year has one.
i have two of her amazing creations that i wear on a regular basics. But being the crafty person that i'am i wanted to give it ago my self. i bought a whole bunch of colours not thinking of a colour theme just what i like or more accurately what i could get my hands on (as everywhere that sells them are always sold out)
I wonder how Emily gets hers so perfectly round and without lint/finger prints.
i have been making quiet a few the last few weeks as dec/jan are a very busy time for birthdays.
so a few lucky friends received them as gifts.
last friday my good friend Shelley came over to my house for a FIMO party as her oven doesn't play nice and keept burning her beads.
once you get on a roll it's really hard to stop.
and by the end of the day we left with about 5-7 necklaces worth. one for everyday in the week.
as i was on a roll i started making new shapes and trying different techniques.
using a razor to cut sides of the bead give a gem like shape, as well as mixing in glitter and different colours together. the photo on the bottom right are a few i made with a small cookie cutter to look like small cherry blossoms. #Kawaii
so give FIMO ago it's fun and very addictive.
what colours combinations can you come up with?
what shapes will you make?
i would love to see photos.
